Since 1993, the Paul Bunyan Nature Learning Center, a private non-profit, 501 (c)(3) that has brought thousands closer to nature. Within our 65 acre preserve, we have a picnic area, about 3 miles of trails through a variety of native habitats such as prairies, wetlands, and forests. Our trails provide the experienced naturalist and the beginning nature explorer a wide range of educational, scientific, and recreational opportunities. The Arboretum being developed on the three acres around the interpretive center will have Minnesota native trees, shrubs and wildflowers planted. Being located in the heart of the business district in the Baxter/Brainerd area, we provide a large green space. We teach children and adults fascinating facts about the environment. We promote conservation for the land, water, and air we share with all things wild. And in the process, every visitor leaves with a renewed appreciation of every natural wonder. Our Mission is to provide recreational and educational opportunities; to enhance awareness, appreciation, and understanding of nature; and to promote conservation and good stewardship of the environment. |
