Nature Discovery Camp

Preschool (ages 4 & 5)  TBA

Nature Explorers Camp

2nd and 3rd Grades, TBA

Butterflies, 4th - 8th Grade

Learn about the many different butterflies that visit here. See the Monarchs’ various stages, what they eat and what brings other butterflies to the garden.

First camp on TBA time, 10:00am to 3:30pm

Second camp on TBA, 2008, time, 10:00am to 3:30pm

Forests and Wetlands 4th - 8th Grade

This camp will allow children the hands on experience of the forests and wetlands ecosystems.  Collecting leaves, plants, insects, water and other information about the forest and wetland that will help them identify the what, how and why it is living there. The water cycle will also be included in this camp. 

July 8, 9 & 10, 2008 daily times; 10:00am to 3:30pm (three day camp)

Ecology Camp 4th - 8th Grade

The interrelationships of living things are an ecological drama involving living and non-living things. Students explore the relationships of living things within the abiotic world: in soil, among large species and through a microscope in a drop of pond water. How do we humans fit into this interconnected world? What is an ecological foot print?

TBA, daily times; 10:00am to 3:30pm (two day camp)

August  1st & 2nd, daily times; 10:00am to 3:30pm (two day camp)

Birds Discovery 4th - 8th Grade

Forests, prairies, wetlands these are the homes to the many species of birds found at the Nature Center. Hike, observe, and identify birds in the various habitats and learn about the adaptations that help them survive.

July 18 & 19, 2008 daily times; 8:00am to 11:30am (two day camp, mornings)

Animal Discovery 4th - 8th Grade

Explore the world of the animals of central Minnesota, learn their facts, tracts and habitats. Food chains, Animal tract casts, carrying capacity and games.

July 21 & 22, 2008 daily times; 10:00am to 3:30pm (two day camp)

What to bring:
A day backpack for stuff.
A water repellent jacket.
Sweatshirt

A water bottle.
A bag lunch in a marked

cooler.

A hat for shade.
Walking shoes or boots.
Sunscreen and bug repellent.
Positive attitude!
